Words! How Powerful


Our words are spiritual instruments in our hands. They can be used as an emotional soothing balm or as scalding hot or boiling water, depending on how we use them. The creator of the universe gave the ability to speak only to Homo Sapiens, this I believe is for a reason; so that we can do good to one another's life by our words.

Words can make or mar the situation; and I mean any situation at all. Start from the employee standing before a panel of interviewers, who just mentioned what he ought not to have mentioned at the dying minutes of the interview. A Job that was almost in the bag slipped out again. Many great battles that have claimed millions of lives started first with words; unkind words. A whole lot of difference can come into your marriage or courtship if you consciously begin to say to each other only words that you also would want to hear. The cause of divorce most times is an unbridled tongue. Words are the point of release of all human emotions. Let me briefly remind you what thoughtful words can accomplish in our lives:
 KIND WORDS PACIFY; No matter how offended your partner is, if only you can think of a kind word to say to him or her, you'll see the rage melting like butter placed on a red-hot knife. In the same way it is not uncommon to find someone whose rage increased because of certain statements made by the other party.

 WORDS CAN OPEN UP THE WAY FOR FAVORS; Any one known for carrying kind words is seen in a different perspective. And most time such people tend to find it easy to secure favors from people. This goes to prove that words are like tangible seeds that you sow in people's hearts and it always yields a harvest good or bad. Many politicians who have come into disfavor in the sight of voters whose favorite they were when they ‘misfired’ during a manifesto night. Their destiny and political career took a down turn just because of maybe a wrong statement made.

 KIND WORDS MOST TIMES SHOW MATURITY; It therefore holds a greater power to influence people than coercive words, which in most cases meets up with stiff resistance from the other especially from the women folks. People naturally are gravitated to someone who can give them a dose of the right words at the right time. Many suicide attempts by depressed people have been botched when the suicidal answered a phone call that carried the voice of someone who spoke just the right words to them.
WORDS OF HOPE ARE THE GREATEST ANTI-DEPRESSANT; Depression is caused by intense and prolonged feelings of hopelessness in the minds of people. They lose their ability to see anything good resulting from their current negative life experiences. A kind word of hope can save their life. Hope is a spirit that travels from place to place riding on the wings of words.

 WORDS ARE LIKE KEYS THAT OPEN UP GATES; many have found their way into the lives of noble people who helped transformed their lives because they were carriers of kind words. Kind words are courteous, timely and encouraging to every human soul. The wisest king that ever lived; king Solomon said "Kind words are like apples of gold in backgrounds of silver" what a sight to behold! The one of the greatest keys of success is to train yourself to speaking right words for each occasion and this can be achieved only if you would watch what you listen to or the material you spend time reading. You can’t take in garbage and bring forth gold!
